FFADO Usage Statistics

Device Registration

Since the project’s inception, FFADO has offered its users the option to inform us of the device(s) they use. This information was helpful since it gave us some more weight when talking to device manufacturers.

In 2020, with manufacturers no longer producing new firewire-based products, there is little need to collect this information. As a result, manual registration was discontinued in June 2020. As of FFADO 2.4.4, the registration option was no longer offered to users.

Historical numbers

As of May 2020:

• There were 3524 registered users on the website. (since: Apr 06, 2007)
• There were 9028 unique registered devices in the database. (since: Apr 28, 2008)
• The Linux market seems to be divided among 65 vendors.
