IO|14

[April 23, 2007]

The Alesis people informed me that currently all their resources are devoted to getting their devices running on Windows/Mac, and that they are currently not able to free up resources for us. They will contact us when they are ready to support us.

If you are interested in getting an Alesis device and using it on Linux, please query the Alesis sales support to see what the status on this is. (Such that at least they know that interested people exist)

Seems the basic streaming is working with the dice-code in ffado.

The Alesis io|14 is supported in the trunk. Though there's currently no mixer support, everything else works pretty well (MIDI-IO, audio playback/capture).

would you happen to know anything about the IO|26 as far as how different it could possibly be?
thanks

Hi,
I'm posting this comment again because it seems it didn't work before. My IO14 is working with the trunk version. However, I can't make the Direct Hardware Monitoring to work. I found a lot of information about the IO14 here:

I guess the key to switch ON the HDM. I'll be more than happy if I could be able to hear what I'm playing on the headphones in real time, I don't need anything else. Could be this possible?
Thank you very much in advance,
Luis Pablo

... I'm unable to send anything to the line outputs. I tried every possible connection in QJackCTL but no success at all.

Concerning the io14 Hardware Monitoring, here's a fairly easy workaround. Basically, you can install it on any mac or windows system (might possibly work in Wine too) and fire up the HWM utility. The settings will carry over when you use it wherever, indefinitely, until you configure it again. I set mine to monitor channels 1-2 in mono and 3-4 as L/R stereo pair. The monitor level (global, yes) is then hardware-controlled by the "mix blend" knob. Works great.

By the way, I'm using libffado2 (2.0.99+svn1999-1) in KXStudio.
